Anyone have an old sheet metal shear for sale in SoCal? I can buy a Chinese one at Harbor Freight for under $1,000, but I'd rather have a more seasoned example.

Keep an eye open for a Tennsmith, or you might be able to find an old Pexto lurking around an airport. Neighbor has one that might be for sale, but I think it's an 8footer...

An 8 footer might be cool, but it might overload my poor Tundra... ;-)

Last year, I went for the first time to a farm auction in Illinois, near Grafton.

I bought five vises of different sizes, for a total of US$55.00. One of them, weighs some 40 pounds or so.

About three weeks ago, I bought a "Kennedy" tool chest in Olive, MO for $30.00. I know practically nothing about this brand,
and would like to ask you guys, if you have had any experience with the brand. Quality?

Added to the other tool chests (a roller and a chest -both MAC 1950s) I bought last year, plus two other rollers that I already had,
my last purchase was another roller, in Collinsville, IL. For $50, I bought an old roller, full with assorted tools; there were more than
40 hammers of different sizes, weights and shapes. Kept the metal working hammers, kept the Matco and Craftsman tools, and the rest,
I gave to a friend, including the roller.

I can say without any hint of a doubt, that this thread is responsible for my tool chest / vise spending binge :drink3: :drink3: :drink3: :drink3: :drink3: :drink3:

Kennedys are good quality boxes that will last forever with any sort of care, like lube the drawer slides a bit every couple of years. I'd rank it pretty close to the 'other' famous marketing sucess boxes without the high cost. $30? good find!!

Thanks, "Inspecter"

The Kennedy is a little rusty, but I believe that I can rehab it, if I ever make it back home to the compressor, the sandblaster and the other tools I'll need.

He is also listing an old Kennedy box I had. His user name on Ebay is Hugh308

What became of all the bodymans dollies and files that were in that light blue CRAFTSMAN rollaround? Those are almost museum pieces as all the body and fender guys now a days do is change out tinwork and use fillers because the metal is so thin it won't take being 'encouraged'. My sons '07 GT 350 Mustang got dinged while parked. Required a new fender and they gave him the removed fender which has a dent on the lip of the wheel opening flare, the new fender wasn't cheap, good thing the other guys insurance bought the parts and labor.
