Now, the question is, what will the 3 Razorback Thunderbolts, with Combat Records, look like when they come out of restoration with the same folks who did the most recent P-47D (Bubble Canopy) whose name escapes me. As I read, recently a small exerpt that those were the next in line to be done.
Paul

Are you referring to the 3 in storage at WestPac ?

Ken asked for update news ...... how about a picture taken today ~ Oct 30th :D

Steady progress is being made as more and more boxes of components migrate from the shelves and into the airplane.

All being well ~ we might see the first post restoration engine run before the end of 2011.

I'm keeping everything crossed it will be ready to fly for Legends in July 2012

P-47G is looking great. I hope someone gets pics and video of the engine run.

Interesting to hear about those 3 P-47s. Never heard of those before.

A very good resource for aircraft modeling questions (with no offense to Scott and the model forum here on WIX) would be HyperScale. You can visit at www.hyperscale.com. There is a wealth of knowledge there. For P-47 modeling specifically, I HIGHLY recommend AeroScale's P-47 Heaven forums, which are part of the larger Kitmaker network of model forums. You can find that here http://p47.kitmaker.net/.

Best of luck with your build!

Zack

"Snafu" was out for another engine run / taxi run / systems test .....

Image

All my pix from lunchtime today are marred by serious heat shimmer  thanks to the spring mini heatwave we have right now
~ temps are almost double what they would normally be at this time of year ! ( Around 65 F when these were taken )

It sure does look nice moving under its own power though !
