It's sad from our perspective, but necessary from AMARG's. To them, this is just junk taking up space - there is no longer a need to keep them around for possible reuse or parts stripping, and they've got to make room for the hundreds more airframes our Dear Leader is forcing into retirement in the next couple of years.

The shredding is particularly vile considering there are T-37s and A-4s involved - both types that should have a large warbird attraction. I guess they want to make sure no one can build up any more frankenstein birds out of parts.

Sure would be nice to see an inventory of airframes that this covers, by type and serial number/BuNo.

Sickening to me to realize that these were state of the art when I was a teenager. Makes me feel my bones. I would buy A-4 parts. Nose cone or maybe make a desk out of the wing etc. My great Uncle was Ed Heinemann.

The problem is that the government (more our leader's...) doesn't trust the public because they fear that we will re-sell 30 YEAR OLD technology to other countries. While our own government sells aircraft to other countries.
