Drinking my coffee and doing my morning review of FAA Prelims and saw a SNJ-5 ground looped at FFZ.
http://www.faa.gov/data_research/accide ... 0313_N.txt Reg is N3246G - AZ Wing's bird.
Anyone how bad the damage was?

I'm sure damage summary will be brought to the public if the parties see fit...

damage was almost impossible to detect if you didn't know about it. Outboard aileron hinge ground down a little and just scuffed the trailing edge of the aileron and wing tip. Pilot made a nice save to keep it on the runway and prevent further damage.

Excellent, glad to hear it wasn't anything more serious... sounds as though it should be back up and operational in very short order, if it's not done already.
Thanks for the update,
Lynn

So we should wait for the CAF to issue a press release to announce that one of their aircraft was damaged?

Col. Anderson did say "you had to stay on top of them" when talking about the T-6. "That's what makes them a good trainer". he also said the Mustang was an easier plane to take off and land.

Can't remember who, but I recall someone saying that the Bearcat was a good trainer for the P-51 which was a good trainer for the T-6.

Bob Love always use to say, "First you fly the P-47, then the P-51, then the P-40, then you can handle the terriable Texan, but the Air Force did it just backwards"
