Fascinating wartime Douglas B-23, Pacific noseart photos

I was looking for something else entirely when I bumped into this biography of MGEN Clements McMullen. Scroll about 1/3 way down the page (the pics are sorted chronologically) and there are several photos of him with his B-23 transport 39-038, nicknamed the "Burma Roadster". There are also some absolutely astonishing nose art photos of abandoned B-24s and A-20s, and this incredible early P-38:



I suspect there will be a lot of right-click/saving going on around here from this link. Anyways, since B-23 info seems thin on the ground, I figured this would be helpful.

Fascinating 'BUMP'. I've got a couple of friends in San Antone, one who's retired A.F. and another who teaches @ St. Marys to Boeing folks @ Kelly they will get a real kick out of this!!!

Darn you!!!!!!It took me over two hours to go thru that site!! Great find, and now I know where The street "General McMullen" got its' name. One of the biggest thourough fares leading into Kelly. General Hudnell who succeded him being the other. Hudnell was President of a bank where I had my first bank account after his retirement.
