Airframe is a composite bird made up of many parts from all over, so it wasn't a flyer and the various parts haven't flown for some time!!

Neat, I love it when firms recognize their history instead of just seeing aircraft as dollar signs.

Now they need a H-19...the Blackhawk of the 50-60s.

While everyone here knows my feeling on pole mounted aircraft in Connecticut
It is about time that put one on public display around the area.
We have several Sikorsky Helicopters sitting at the Connecticut Air & Space Center including

S-52
H-19
H-34
S-60 Skycrane Prototype

We were asked to use the museum as the final assembly for the Blackhawk but a easier accessible space for their guys was secured in Bridgeport. We would have loved to have participated.
Mr. Pino and his staff are always welcome to help out the CASC with these excellent restoration projects and they have an open offer to visit. In fact we have several Sikorsky employees and many ex-Sikorsky men and women that are volunteers at our museum. The museum is on the opposite side of town from the Current Factory, at the site of the original Stratford Sikorsky Plant next to the (BDR) Sikorsky Memorial Airport.

When finished the S-60 will be a real head turner.

Ditto on th epole comment! Look on the bright side Drew...in twenty years that Black Hawk may need restoration and then it may become part of the CASC collection in return for restoration and putting up a fiberglas HH-60!

Big? I remember driving that bridge in the mid/late 1980s when Sikorsky was filling out the JMSDF Sea Dragon order. Now those things were BIG. And driving that bridge was a *bit* more challenging back then since they hadn't paved over the open grating yet.

I remember going up the 15N (the Merrit Parkway) to Foxwwods & Mohegan Sun every few weeks back in the late 90's (Hey a guy has to make money some how... ) and I used to hate that darn bridge with the grating. It's an interesting perspective to see the bridge from the Sikorsky flight line, it a big bridge.

thanks for posting Jerry. The base that they somewhat closed at Bradley where the a-10 unit was, is there any plans for the aircraft that are next to the gate?

It's still a base for the CT ANG. They have a couple of Lear Jets, so I suspect the three planes on display will be there for some time.
