The beautiful de Havilland D.H.89 is an airplane worthy of preservation. How many complete static and airworty examples of the D.H.89 are known to exist?
Where are they preserved? Photos are welcome.

The two that I have seen are:
C-FAYE at the Bushplane Museum in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario


and "X7454" (ex-N2290F) at the National Museum of the USAF, Dayton, Ohio

Jerry's was rebuilt by AvSpecs in NZ. There are several more down here and a couple of flyers IIRC.

There is on Flying D.H.89 in France. I saw it two days ago at "La Ferté Alais" Airshow. I'm pretty sure the plane was based there.

I will try to found somes pictures.

And there is another in Duxford (Offering ride if in remember correctly)

Among the less familiar preserved examples, there's the airworthy D-ILIT in Germany (which is however probably not flying at the moment, as it was blown off a taxiway by an adjacent Boeing recently) and static OY-AAO in Denmark (currently off display while undergoing a long-term re-restoration)

With the caveat that this list may not be up to date, there seems to be a healthy number of Rapides (and a Dragon or two) in existence.

In NZ you can ride in DH 89 Rapide at Mandeville on the South Island, with Croydon Air Services. They have the full range of DH biplanes there -- a real treasure.

You can also ride in a DH 84 Dragon at Dairy Flats north of Aukland -- very rare

Mark Miller, of DH Technical Support, owns and flies a superb DH89 out of Duxford -- so perfect that you automatically take off your shoes as you step on board.

I wish we had one at Vintage Wings...

This is the late Bud Fields bird prior to an engine failure, that has had it grounded for the last two years. It's based at Yolo County Airport in Calif.

I didn't know there was a D.H.89 in the western U.S.! That is a gorgeous airplane.

Are there any D.H.89's fitted with dual controls? If the D.H.90 is wide enough for two people to sit upfront, I would think that a D.H.89 could be modified for such.
