The caption on the photo states
Quote:
three nip carriers and four DE, now belong to us

I had no idea ANY Japanese Carriers survived the war intact.

Thanks,

S.

Here's a short list rundown of IJN carriers that survived WW2;

Junyo Damaged by torpedos 12/44-scrapped 1947
Unryu Class Many incomplete @ the end of the war-scrapped
Amagi Run aground after being bombed to prevent capsizing 6/45 scrapped 1947
Katsuragi scrapped 1947
Kasagi scrapped 1947
Aso scrapped 1947
Ikoma Scrapped 1947
Hosho an experimental light carrier class scrapped 1947
Ryuyho scrapped 1946
Ibuki scrapped 1946
Kaiyo scrapped 1947
Shinano sister hull to battleship Yamato, converted to but never completed as a carrier, sunk
There were several ships under construction in the above classes of carriers so in some cases, there were a lot of ships under construction as the war ended.

Thanks
