Any comment on this close flyby of a control tower in a Mustang warbird?

Any opinion if this was a smart thing to do?

My brain is swirling with reasons why that flyby was intergalactically stupid.

Further discussion on this would be counterproductive... and there are several issues involved, not the least of which is the individual's judgment who posted that on Youtube.

I'm personally tempted to lock and delete the thread.

Just a mod opinion.

21 years ago, after the annual AIR FAIR @ KPAE a visiting RAF contingent doing a U.S. post Gulf War 1 YAHOO Tour, departed for Merrie Olde-among the aircraft was a VICTOR tanker. The crew departed, broke left out of the pattern, went South over Puget Sound, then turned and accelerated back over the field aimed right @ the tower, TRAMCOS hanger full of 727's and 737's under repair was next to the tower so several of us working outside watched this transpire, pretty much frozen in place. The pilot waited until it looked like there was no chance of avoiding and lifted the right wing and blazed over the tower level with the cab heading North towards Canada. The tower crew said later they were trying to get under the carpet to get as low as they could. I understand a formal complaint was filed through the State Department but of course, nothing came of it that we ever heard. Now that was A) stupid and B) scared the poo out of yours truly and all my fellow workers:shock:

Oh, I don't know about that. I'd say that the uninformed get stupid-er.

I got into a pissing contest with some armchair aviators over on another board who thought that this kind of stuff was just bitchin' and wished pilots would do it more, because they were tax-payers and they wanted to see their military pilots 'push the limits'.

STUPID....ER!
