This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Found this photo on eBay (Item #200702511491). It looks like a display somewhere in the USA. The slide is dated 1973. Any thoughts on which one this might be?

Pretty colors!
They need to paint the clamshells green.

I think it is 44-74216 at Battleship Park, Mobile AL, as it was painted years ago.

Thanks Guys! You all did such a good job on the Mustang, maybe someone can tell me about this slide of a Zero on display in the US in the 50s or 60s...

eBay Item 270892033477
Could it be the one that was on display outside of an antique shop in Atlanta?

Look at the the left side of the Zero - another plane's wingtip, in silver and squared off. Looks like a '50 Chrysler on the street.

Don't know if it's the same Mustang, took this at the USS Alabama park in 3-2008. Notice the damage to the rigtht wing rom Hurricane Katrina, also no tail.

Here are some crappy pics I took of her in August, 2010. The hurricane damage has been completely repaired..in fact the entire museum has made an incredible comeback. It's actually better now than it was when I first visited, a month before Katrina. The Kingfisher back in the corner was still awaiting her turn in the repair queu..I don't know if she's been fixed yet or not.
I just noticed..looks like the inner gear doors are green. Sorry, Valdo....
