Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland

This place looks very interesting. They have a little bit of everything it seems. Has anyone ever been there? Their website indicates they have 10 aircraft but it does not list them. What aircraft do they have?

I believe they've had issues in the past few years.
They've sold some great historic autos, I don't know if that has meant selling some of their aircraft.

Anyone have photos?

The auto/aviation section is closed until fall 2012 for renovations. Their website lists them has having 7 aircraft. :drink3:

They sold their Curtiss Seagull seaplane (civilian, early 1920s) a year ago at auction for $500,000. Anybody know where it went to?

I still feel bad the Corsair left Cleveland/Ohio. That move leaves a bad taste in my mouth as I really feel Mr Soplata was against it.

I visited the museum in 2004, at the time on display they had:

1910 Curtiss Model E “Bumble Bee”
1929 Great Lakes 2T-1A Sport Trainer
1930 Howard DGA-3 “Pete”
1932 Wedell-Williams Model 44
P-51K 44-12116 NX79161 Race #80 "Second Fiddle"
and lots of cars! :)

I'm sure Walt would be very upset that the Corsair left. I heard that someone was trying to get a Corsair back to northern Ohio. Give me time and I'll remember who, what, where, when , why!

I spent several hours in their storage/work facility a few years ago, taking photos of the DH-4M1. The Boeing built DH-4M1 is also gone. I think it is keeping company with the Curtiss flying boat. They went down under to that strange little island chain off the coast of Australia. I think the people down there are called Kiwis. I guess they grow Kiwi Fruit down there or something like that.

They have been trying for a few years but it wasn't them that I was talking about. :drink3:

MAPS has part of a Corsair. Goodyear donated their FG-1 cockpit from their museum to MAPS .
