Seeing that C-GNPB is flying into Calgary today, I'm going to wait until they shuttle it over to Red Deer as Calgary is about a four hour drive from my home. Just a little too far for me to go today. Sorry.

Flightplan's dropped out of the system, so it looks like they may not go today. Some fairly nasty weather enroute though, so may be a factor if they don't have working Anti-Ice or their ferry permit doesn't allow flight into known icing conditions.

I think weather conditions into Canada was prob the factor.

You may be right on the anti-icing system and most likely its ferry permit restricts C-GNPB to VFR conditions. Do they store the L-188s for the winter at Calgary and move them back to Reed Deer in the Spring?

The reason for C-GNPB to fly into Calgary is probably to clear Canadian Customs then they will carry onto Red Deer.

Tanker 336: Will ck the flight schedules tomorrow and see what happens. The flight Fm Casper to Calgary was appr 2.5 hrs of flying time. Plz send me your private e-mail via PM to be in contact. There is also the chance that L-188 C-GNPB may press-on to Red Deer tomorrow depending on weather conditions.

I’m assuming C-GNPB is still grounded in Casper. On another note, can anyone identify these seven Electra airframes at the Willow Run airport on the East side of Detroit? I found them via Google Earth. However, depending on when Google did their last satellite snap shot they may already be gone. EX-Zantop?????

Thats exactly what they are. Last time I was up that way from what I could see there was only four still there. Like I said from what I could see, all of them could still be there.

Yep, ex-Zantop. I only saw two of them in 2009. N343HA with N344HA behind.



When I flew for TOM with the Harvards this July I didn't notice them on the west side, so they might have been moved........or scrapped.

It looks like L-188 C-GNPB is still at Casper for unforseen delays. We did not see a Flight Plan for today prob due to weather conditions in Calgary area.

However were were able to locate a few pics tks to the Casper FB folks!! Maybe we can do the same from the FB folks at Brownsville.

C-GNPB is AOG at Casper and will be so until after the holidays as some spares need to be trucked down from Red Deer.

Are you near by Casper Int Airport?? Do you have a POC or an aviation colleague, historian or spotter friends near-by that may be able to take some close-ups pics of this fine bird for the L-188 audience??
