Good color, and sharp images. Looks cold, cold, cold...

Actually I fly stuff around the Arctic all year round! I just happen to be in Hay River this time to load drilling equipment on our Hercules and fly it to an iron ore mine at the northern end of Baffin Island. Weather was great and the sun was just right for these pics.....and it was a warm -4c !!

Thanks for the pics! Tanker 14 and the blue and white DC-4 are formerly Aero Union aircraft. Tanker 14 was one the last DC-4's used as an airtanker in the U.S. The blue and white DC-4 was never an airtanker it was flown on contract to G.E. in upstate New York for airborne electronic systems testing. It had a fighter radar and radome mounted on its nose at one time.

Don't imagine Buffalo Air will scrap any.......too valuable for parts. Anything is possible though!

i hope they all go to musuems or fly!

No need to worry about anything getting scrapped, this is just one of Buffalo's storage areas. Think of it more as a "living" storage area - planes come and go all the time. Red Deer is another one. Those old airplanes are very, very safe - they get activated and parked again as required.
