It used to be a tradition to do a runway burner on return from a sucessful test flight after maintenace @ TRAMCO @ KPAE, pretty cool to sit behind the Captain of a 727 buzzing the runway @ about 5 feet off the runway and a steep pullup @ the end.
A very senior Captain for CATHAY PACIFIC lost his job after doing a long standing traditional 'thanks mates' low pass after takeoff on a delivery flight of a new 777 @ KPAE about a year ago, seems the Mayor of Hong Kong and other big wigs were on board and all wanted their mommies at the same time so the airline fired the Captain, buncha little girls!
