It's the absolute least we can do for these brave Men and Women. I also had the great honor of being about to shake each and everyone of their hands afterwards! We all have a great debt to repay before it's to late.

KEN, get off that darn computer and get your sorry ass out to the airport! I need a second set of hands to attach the radar ops seat structure through the bomb bay roof! We got work to do!!

No pressure...

Here is Ken with Bill Barons who is a P-38 ace. Bill honored us with going along in the Beech yesterday to fly over the retirement home in Stockton.

Image

It was quite a turn out. Most all of these fine folks are veterans and a lot from WWII

Image

As he said; Ken got to shake the hands of every veteran as they came up to receive a pin and other thank you gifts

Image

This is Mr. Ritchey who came up to me and said "There's no glory in the Signal Corps" Well we are trying to change that in our small way. Check out what is on his hat. Mr. Ritchey was a school teacher in Stockton for 35 years.

I think everyone liked the fly over and the presentation on the museum and the Harpoon project. For the fly over yesterday Ricky did the flying from the left seat as he is working on his multi rating and we try to get him as much time in the Beech as we can. Its also a little thank you for all of the work he puts in on the Harpoon.

Lisa Perry, our awesome museum go getter, said the following:

You guys should be so proud of yourselves as you made at least 170 people very happy and brought back so many memories for them. I was very proud of you too, kind of like a mom.......sorry. We ran out of room for residents. When Taigh was showing the video of the plane taking off I told Lauril to look at the residents and they ALL had smiles on their face. After we were talking and she said Lisa those weren't smiles, they were grins. Marcia said it was the best turn out they have ever had. Yea. Even after that awful singing, you didn't lose a single one of them to nodding off, even after all the wine. Those folks can really drink!

Had there been a fire I'm sure we would have been in trouble with all the walkers as they were stacked 5 deep in the front of the entry......

Just saw the news report on kxtv 10. Is there any way we can get a copy of it?? Great report by the way!!

Anyway I just wanted to say thank you and I know if they bring a group of folks, they will love the museum.

Love you guys!

Lisa

What a great day.

If I can put in a vote then please let it ride in the Hangar where it is. No stickys for us please. Too much pressure for updates! Thanks for the request though.

Taigh,

The radio gear looks great. If you need new rubber blocks for the MT-284 for the T-47, I have some.

Grant,

A beautiful set of rubber shock blocks for the ART-13 transmitter shock mount just showed up in the mail. Thank you so very much for those. Where did you come across them? How cool. Now our ART-13 will have a soft ride thanks to you!

Great job Taigh.

What an amazing event

Congratulations on a job well done.

On a lighter note. How was your time at Arlington? Not a dry eye in the house, I bet?

Hap was a great, great man!

"enjoy life"

Best,

S.

My daughter and I are departing for Arlington on Thursday. Hap's services are Friday the 18th at 1300. Thanks for asking.

Here is a shot of my Dad on the left, Hap Halloran and Bob Ring on the right all of which were B-29 aircrew and sadly all are now deseased. Good guys and some amazing stories from these folks. Bob and Hap were both shot down over Tokyo and spent the duration in POW camps. Both had similar horrible treatment too and came out of it okay.

Is it me or does T/Sgt. Terpstra have his shirt sleeves rolled up at a formal function!! WTFO! Gonna have to put a boot up his backside when I get to the field.

Great work guys. Wish we were closer to all and could get out there more than just once a year.
