Lockheed Vega under restoration to fly (rumor)

Hey Vortilon, do you happen to know what happened to the T-33 on a stick located in a park there in Douglas went? I went to A&P school @ Cochise.
There's a F-16 there now and have been wondering. A couple years ago I went home during X-mas to see the folks(S. N.M.) and took a trip over to take a look around.

I am sorry but I have never spent much time in Douglas but I will ask around and see if I can find out where it went.

How about the rumor where you get John & Terry to bring our old Fairchild 71 up for the AAA/APM Invitational Fly-in to join with Yellowstone Aviation's FC-2 and hopefully the Port Townsend Aero Musuem's 71 for a group picture !!

Funnily enough, I saw a couple of Pilgims a few weeks back. Very nice they looked too!

Now that we've put that rumor to rest, how about a Curtiss Condor or two?

Rick got some fuselage structure and stabilizer assembly drawings from me Wednesday - maybe when he has a little time he can comment on their usefulness.

VERY USE-FULL and big Thank You John. We have already benefited from the drawings with attachment details on the front wing attach bulkhead we have drilled apart. I am glad we took it apart as far as we did for we have found cracks in some webs and fittings that were hidden.

Great Rick - I noticed for the first time when getting these together for you that the high wing appeared to use fabricated steel fittings to attach wing riveted into aluminum Diaphragm assemblies.

The DL-2 and 2A low wing used aluminum casting fittings but these were more in compression than tension.

Yes John, thanks for the link but I already know about that thread. However, that may only tell part of the story - how many Condor projects are actually out there?

Small world, I just started re-reading Allen's great Revolution of the Sky before I saw this thread.
Going by the c/n's listed in the back, it seems that this and Week's are the only ones in private (non museum) hands?
Is that correct?

What about other SE Lockheeds? I don't know of any, but if Addison Pemberton can resurrect the Boeing 40 from airworthy extinction, anything is possible.

C/N 203 Vega 5C last I knew ('94) of was in pieces in John Desmond's storage facilities in Philadelphia. Fuselage in two big pieces, etc.

Allen's book in the history section (by C/N) mentions what caused its problems.
