This is excellent news and I hope to see the IL-2 in person some day. Not to bring down the mood but will this airplane need a total rebuild once it gets to the USA like so many of the Russian restorations seem to?

FHC Facebook page confirmed that the IL-2M will be flown during the FHC Fly Day's next summer. 8)

Anyone know if an IL-2 has ever flown in the U.S. before?

An Ilyushin 10 was captured in Korea and test flown in the US. Put it storage for many years it was scapped at some point.
