Corsair Registry v3.0 rebuild nears completion

Fri Oct 14, 2011 6:38 pm

Hi all, I've been working for the last several weeks on rebuilding the Corsair Registry to the new standard format and updating the entries. I have about a dozen entries left to do and hopefully will get them finished in the next week. So, if you have any pictures or information that fills in the gaps then now's the time to submit them. You can submit pictures and information in this thread or email them to submit  @ :P warbirdregistry.org (remove the smiliies of course)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Bu. No. 92460 was built under contract no. 1871, finished in July of 1945. She was accepted by the US Navy on 7/22/45 and delivered on 7/23/45. She saw service with VMF 314 a training squadron. During the ensuing years she bounced around from Akron, Columbus, Cherry Point, Atlanta, Jacksonville and was eventually mothballed with the majority of the FG1 fleet at NAS Litchfield Park. She was sold off the the El Salvadorian Air Force Where she wore the Number FAS 217 (Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña Corsair FAS 217). Some point early in her career she was placed in the junkyard.

It's in the works, I had a slight change in plans. The B-17 section is in progress and about half done but had to implement a coding change and so chose a different registry to revamp. I'll have to go through and recode the B-17 section, including a big chunk of what was already done. :)

Scott, Bureau #: 97288 Please swap out the wreck photo with one of these shots from CASC member Jim Collins.I personally hate seeing that grizzly senseless mess as the lead photo.

Bu. 92304
Chuck Greenhill is restoring the former Wind Machine .
I spoke with Tim McCarter, Chucks mechanic a few months back about our respective Corsair projects. What I can tell you is he got the Wind machine Corsair that was for sale over at Courtesy. The story popped back when they raised the the Birdcage last fall out of the Lake. This is public info tht has been in all the regular magazines.

Hi Scott, You will find that there have been lots of changes to the status of many Corsairs over the last several years since the registry was last updated. Do you have access to all of these changes? Just one that comes to mind is the Tobul Corsair is up and flying again. I'm sure WIX'rs can be of assistance in regards to other changes that have taken place.
