MAM's B-17G Chuckie is coming "home" to the Vintage Flying Museum this week for our annual WW2 Big Band Hangar Dance. She's in the air right now, in fact! Check progress on FlightAware:

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N3701G

She'll be arriving this afternoon. The dance is Saturday, Oct. 15th. Departure for the flight back to MAM will be either Sunday or Monday depending on the WX.

We are SO looking forward to having our grand lady back at Meacham, even if she'll only be there for a few days. We owe a HUGE "THANKS" to Jerry Yagen for making this possible. Y'all come out and see her!

Tickets for the Dance are available through the VFM web site:

Great news, I always enjoyed seeing Chuckie back in the old day's, & you could not find nicer people than Doc & Chuckie Hospers, to be air showing with!

Yes she is sitting out front of the hangar at the VFM, it was a nice mostly calm 6.5 hr flight. if i get some time ill post some pics from the flight deck.... didnt get alot since i was the F/E for the flight. Glad i was allowed to bring her back, pretty cool feeling to fly back to tx on her for your dance.

Lots of restoration work has been done since ownership change:
- Chin turret (replica) and ball turret are new.
- Cargo door removed from RH side of fuselage and waist gun window installed.
- Dented and damaged fuselage skin replaced.
- Various corrosion repairs performed.
- Inside of fuselage stripped and repainted.
- WW2-era SCR-274N and SCR-287 radio gear installed in radio room.

I'm looking forward to giving her a thorough inspection this Saturday! :D
