Good story that talks about the “Scoopectomy” and how they got the plane cross-country….I really think that GG would have been a serious contender in the Gold Race….Jimmy sure had high hopes. God Bless them all....

Beat me to the punch on the XP-51. When the EAA had the XP-51 restored, there were only three people that got to officially fly it; Paul Poberezny- EAA founder, Vern Jobst- Pauls best friend, and Jimmy Leeward.
That should tell you something about his character and flying ability.
