I don`t think I can stand to come to this forum anymore. Every time I decide to lurk the only thing I learn of is tragedy.

My thoughts are with the family.

Best place to cope man....It is because of our love of aviation that many of us take the loss of a crew member and an aircraft as the loss of a relative or distant relative.
I know that when I have attended an air show, I say a prayer asking for God to watch over everyone at this event. I have only seen one mishap that the pilot should have called due to high winds. Thankfully he only damaged a prop.
Everyone that climbs into an aircraft is aware that gravity can always take over; we only hope that we have the ability to maintain control to the ground and walk away unscathed. Sometimes ya do, sometimes ya don’t. Murphy’s Law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong at the worst possible moment. It is inevitable, man and machine, laws of physics and s h i t happens….I recall when folks used to say that they went to the races just to watch the cars crashes.
I imagine that many (and won’t admit it) still think the same way.

This has definitely been a sad weekend. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the pilot.

Let's keep speculation as to the cause down to a minimum and let's not play the Monday-morning armchair quarterback blame game.

I do hope nobody plays the blame game, but even speculation can be a learning experience. I've been flying since 1985, but there is so much I don't know, or maybe that's that I don't think about. The speculation, as long as it's not finger pointing, as to what could be a possible cause of an incident/accident, really helps me as far as recognizing where the link is to break in a chain of events. You have such a diverse panel of knowledgable people assembled on WIX! It's a good place for people to learn about warbird aviation, and airplanes in general...such as principles of flight...and for those of us who have been flying for so long that we don't think about what we do, we just do it, to start thinking about it again!

The main reason I believe speculation should be kept to a minimum is that anyone on this site can be made into an "expert" by a prosecutor. My family and friends have been there as the prosecution chose an uninformed, non-pilot and a witness who came to a snap judgment to quote in court with regards to a certain accident. Don't think this site won't be carefully picked apart by attorneys to see how they can get their client, whether rightfully or not, the highest settlement. Been there, done that, seen the repercussions. All it takes is someone saying "This happened..." and the train is off the tracks.

a lot of people lost friends that day, and are very upset. i plan on praying for the ones hurt and the ones that are hurting and ATTENDING THE VERY NEXT AIRSHOW I CAN! that is how i plan on rembering the ones who have passed.

If there are already pictures and discussion in the media, then it's probably not out of line to evaluate what people are hearing. However, especially with this incident, we have little relevant information, and speculation is no more than just that... and as Taylor said, can harm more than help.
