I am hearing snippets of the goings on at Reno including some impressive numbers being put up by Stevo Hinton in Strega, and Stewart Dawson in Rare Bear, yet have seen nothing here.

You people are failing in your duties.....

Boy that Strega is fast!

We spent quite a bit of time talking about the first couple of days of Reno last night on Warbird Radio....
You hear it NOW!

I would also suspect that A: it's early yet and B: most folks know how to find all the info available on the RARA website...

I'm looking forward to first hand reports for the ramp! (but I do imagine those folks are rather busy)

I have never been to Reno but I would think a true warbird person would not be impressed with the planes being flown like that and the engines being trashed so often. I am sure many warbirds have been destroyed in racing but I am sure that some are still around because of it. If you are looking for ramp reports it looks like wap and aafo have things covered.

Some of the 'truest warbird people' out there, are the same folks which have been directly involved with and leading Reno air racing, for decades.

There was some talk about the Tri-State Warbird Museum P-40M, with New Zealand history and markings, a few months back - this aircraft is at Reno, and is competing for the RR Heritage Trophy.

How many viper powered jets did they stop racing?

The article on ANN stated that they stopped 6 of them from racing this year.

Are you sure? I looked for it today and didn't see it...certainly not in the Heritage area. Only the C-model was there.

Sorry, Tim, I saw mention of it on another forum, which the tone led me to believe it was already there - evidently it is listed as a participant through the RR Heritage Trophy entrants list...though if it is not there, it is not there.

So as someone who has absolutely no knowledge of the jet classes, what are "viper" powered jets and why would they be banned? Too fast?
