This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I think Ober has the right idea....they are used by "special" people....
Here's one that I caught in 2009...

Nice shot Ztex! That's exactly the type I'm talking about. See 'em all the time. I don't comment when I see them coming/going for obvious reasons. Still, I always wondered what they're up to.

That reminds me of the time our most friendly Fed couldn't find the Coded number or N number on a G-5 at a local airport. He was ranting wanting to call the DEA , FBI, or any other 3 letter agency that he could think of until someone ruined it all and told him it belonged to the Marine Corp. Ruined his day.

Miss Mitchell is going to be at a fly in at my local airport tomorrow. We have a special event for work that I am going to have to be at tomorrow so I won't be able to see her. Well I just heard the beautiful sound of a couple R-2600's singing overhead. I ran out and got to see her make her approach to the airport.

I might just swing over there tomorrow and see the old girl. I'll take some pics for you.

Had the day off from work today, and was treated to having Miss Mitchell fill in as my alarm clock this morning, shortly after its departure. ; )

Well today is certainly turning out to be a good day. I was really dissapointed that I wouldn't be able to go see Miss Mitchell tomorrow. First she flew over my work. At lunch I ran to the airport to take a quick picture of her. Well as I was leaving a lady pulled in and waved me down. Asked me if that was the bomber that will be on display tomorrow. She then asked what the difference between a B-25 and a B-24 was. Seems her dad was a tail gunner on a B-24 in Europe. Got to have a nice conversation with her. Not the greatest pic in the world through the fence with my cell phone.

I do not know where exact I had done this picture but we flew about one hour across the Swiss Alps to land finally at Zuerich.

The following pictures are done by the photographer in the two seat F-18 and are copyright of the Swiss Air Force.
