Finally got some of my photos sorted - looking at the previous postings, some of these are kind of plain. BTW - I haven't missed a year since 1974...

Image

I sat next to a delightful woman on a power scooter on Friday who had been to all of them! She played with Tom P as little kids while the adults talked planes. Very cool

Start this year with trainers:

All for now - WIX (or something) is kicking me out when I click 'submit', so I have to copy the post, log back in, and paste it into a new reply. Never had that before.

on the subject of the .50 cal, looks to me like its just mounted pretty far out on the weapons sponson, and would normally point forward, but maybe a clip or pin came undone, allowing it to swivel, and the passenger had the presence of mind to just hold the barrel. HEAVY gun, so not an easy feat for sure.

On another note, I just wanted to mention how ecstatic I am to see the Tobul Corsair once again in the air. I knew Joe back in the early 2000s, briefly, through the CAF, before he perished in the Corsair crash. He was such an awesome, nice guy, and had actually offered to start taking me up on rides in various other aircraft in exchange for some work at his hanger. Of course I was going to oblidge, and probably would have even NOT for flights, just to be around the aircraft, but then that crash happened. All of us at our CAF wing were obviously devastated, and have missed him ever since. His son, who has flying in a T-6 at the time of the crash and saw it happen, also came once in a while and did a few things with us, including a flight or 2 to the local fly-ins they used to have at the airport. I had NO clue (somehow) that the bird was being restored, but when i started looking through these pics and saw the big JT on the tail, with rockets and yellow accents, it brought some tears to my eyes. Thank you Jim and all involved for bringing your father's plane back to life to honor him and continue what he was doing with the aircraft.

I really love the FA-18 in the Tri-Color scheme! Great photos with the Helldiver!

Loving all the shots! Just spent this past weekend in Abbotsford adding another 2,600 pics to sort through. I need to get a batch sent in for an upcoming EAA Warbirds magazine and then i'll post more from Oshkosh and Abbotsford when time permits.

The tri-colored Hornet is simply goregeous, but that digital camo'd F-18 gives me a headache!

Just this past weekend that Midway-scheme King Air was at Andrews AFB.
