I must be blind, as I'm not finding any evidence in your link that the P-47 flew. Please help.

You are absolutely correct, the P-47 did not see it's weight removed from its tyres at all.

Ahem...

Okay, so you're WIX's #1 P-40 buff who's actually been around fairly regularly (I'm assuming) for the last three years... I'll concede that... lol

Just joshin' ya Nate...

I know I'm coming in late here, but I'm still waking up after a long hibernation. That Hawk is a beaut... I hear there's been a bit of rattlin' about the paint job and, as I don my historian's hat, I'm going to agree. I'm not crazy about how it was done. But it is not my bird, and I did not pay for it. That said, I *do* like the choice of markings... most groovy.

Anyhoo, regardless of my opinion of this Hawk's feathers, she is absolutely beautiful... and most importantly, she's a Hawk that is flying... and that's all that truly matters to me.

Fade to Black...

Actually not really by todays standards. Got too many things going on I can't always be reading up on P-40's. Not that I ever remember anything anyway... :?

On a serious note I've meet mudge twice. Last year I was just gawking waiting in line to get into Thunder over Michigan when I hear a "Hi Nathan". I'll be it was mudge! :D

I think mudge will always be remembered for his love for the P-38 and dislike for the Tora act! His signatures are pretty cool too!

Here's to Mudge! :drink3:
