I dropped into the Beaufort Restoration Groups' hangar at Caboolture in Queensland while away on an "aeroplaning" trip and caught up with the progress on this wonderful project.

The aircraft is up on its gear, with tailplane put in place while I was there, with the fin still being finished in the jig as are the two wing outers.

Electrics have commenced, but the cockpit is still to be fitted out.

The project is seeking leads on Lockheed Electra or P-3 Orion brakes as its intending to use Orion wheels.

Contact the project via info@beaufortrestoration.com.au if you have leads on those parts or wish to donate to the project?

I remember Point Cook having A9-13 and A9-557 both in a hangar on the Southern Tarmac in the late 1970s, this hangar in Queensland currently has the highest concentration of Beauforts in the world with probably 2.5 airframes existing under one roof, (3 cockpits are visible in the two photos)
