Fokker Dr 1 written off at Geneseo Air Show ( no injuries)

Mon Jul 11, 2011 6:46 am

The Fokker Dr 1 Triplane replica owned and operated by the WW 1 Aircraft Museum at Brampton Ontario has been destroyed during the dog fight act at the show.
Reports indicate that the a/c suffered an engine failure. The pilot put the a/c down in a corn field but the a/c cart wheeled and flipped on impact. No injuries to the pilot but the a/c is very heavily damaged .
The a/c was originally built by Andy McKinnon and was purchased from his estate by the WW 1 Flying Museum based at Brampton Ontario Canada. It was powered by an L4 Jacobs engine

Went to that link and saw more bad news. Did you see where a pilot bailed out of his P-51 after it got together with a Skyraider that was flying formation with it?
