The Evening News From Duxford ~ July 4th 2011

If you were wondering if this might be a slow news day ~ think again !

Father and son spend some time together on the 4th of July



Now let's see ~ it's lefty loosy and righty tighty .....



The day just got a whole lot better with the arrival of a shipping container at The Fighter Collection hangar .....



Which meant the newly assembled P-51's for the Horsemen were towed outside to make some room for the new arrival





This didn't stop the guys from Planes of Fame from getting these pony's watered and fed





Meanwhile ...... the container contents have been revealed



Newly restored in Australia ~ Curtiss P-40F ~ 41-19841







Stephen Grey takes a close look at the latest arrival in the TFC fleet























Meanwhile at the other end of the hangar ........ the P-47, Bearcat and Hawk had popped outside for a quick sunbathe







There was even time today to fit the ailerons to the P-47 after they were unpacked from the container from Australia

The other P-51 ~ February also flew late in the afternoon too !

Wow these guys are good !!! They've assembled and test flown not one but two P-51's in approx 4 days

Great pics as always, and great news as well. It seems to become a great if not the greatest Legends show so far.

Very neat to see "Rolls-Royce" peaking through on a P-40, being one of only two cases in which you can have the chance to see that on an airworthy P-40 in the world today. With the bits and quips that have been around the internet for a few years now about this aircraft, it is great to see such detailed photos of the completed restoration, looking so great just in sub-sections alone right now, and really looking forward to seeing it complete and operating from the Duxford grass! Another superb choice in markings by TFC as well, and congratulations and job well done to the Precision Aerospace team on the quality work!

So this is not the Judy Pay P-40F? But another P-40F that has come out of restoration and has been under my radar? Wow if so then I'm slacking since I am wix's #1 P-40 buff. And Im not old just 25 years old and the "other" site you need to stop by and post more aften. Regardless if you have no TBY updates or not. Make something up!
