It's great that
Chuckie has received all of this excellent restoration work! It's a shame that the VFM crew couldn't be the ones doing it. . .
She looks good with the ball turret, but I'm still hoping Mr. Yagen will someday install the H2X radar set.

Well dean i cant take any credit for whats been done to the point of her landing back in VA from FL but a former VFM person is looking after her now and Chuckie (mrs Hospers) was happy to see that person and that they were watching over the 17 a little when she was at the airshow this past weekend.

my pleasure, it is nice to have basically followed her from texas and still get the chance to work on her. i was busy this week help getting her painted as shown above and alot of stencils painted on, i wish i could go to hamilton with her but i have to stay behind and work on other projects and such.

IMHO all those additions like stencils, cowling antiglare, etc. add up to a complete and authentic looking airplane. I really like the look of the green on the cowlings. Would you be able to give a run down of some of the projects that were completed recently on Chuckie?
I also appreciate the number of aircraft that MAM are sending up to Hamilton.

mainly the stencils, anti-glare, the landing gear paint.. we are working on putting the bomb bay racks back in with some replica bombs(not sure if we can get it down for the show) after the show the plane will get more attention if we dont have anymore shows pop up for her... the crew im on has other planes to work on as well(3 are going to the hamilitoon show actually) and 2 need some tlc more then the others so not sure what order on what we will be doing things but one of the items is the astro dome getting put back, canvas getting put back in places such as the nose(back of inst panel) and tail wheel cover just off the top of my head. and thanks... i was beginning to think everyone abandoned this thread since it left FW.

Thanks for the run down. Sounds like you have lots of things to keep you busy.
I'm looking forward to further updates and photos. Also if you have any photos you can post of the other aircraft you maintain feel free to do so.

I agree about the stencils as well, it makes a restoration that more impressive well done!

Very nice!

Thanks for the updates Jon, she is looking absolutely beautiful. In light of the terribly sad news with Liberty Belle today, I expect you'll probably start getting a few calls about bringing Chuckie to other shows.
Keep up the great work, and FLY SAFE CHUCKIE!
