On this news page it was mentioned that The National WWII Museum in New Orleans would be recieving a life-size replica of a Martin B-26 Marauder. If this is truly the case, I would really appreciate any information regarding how this replica will be made... probably out of fiberglass like the Liberator mock-up at Lackland? :)

...not to be picky...and the writing is not terribly clear...but the article seems to indicate the true destination of the B26 mock-up is not in New Orleans...

"The wall segments will be removed to make way for a significant expansion to the Utah Beach Museum. The project, led by American architect Nicolas Kelemen, includes the construction of a new hangar that will house a life-size replica of a B-26 bomber, as well as a flight simulator."

What the article actually says is that the museum in New Orleans is getting three chunks of concrete - pieces of the Atlantic Wall. The B-26 replica is going to the Utah Beach museum in France.

the B26 at the new utah beach museum is not a replica but the B26 refurbished by the musée de l'air 15 yeras ago and later on show at the musée de l'air le bourget near paris. on loan for 5 years minimum to Utah beach museum, in a new modern hangar sponsored by a US citizen. the B26 has lost the silver finish for a new kaki finish. the story of this plane is an ex french air force bomber given to the Air France mecanicians school located at vilgenis near paris, (in fact there was 3 B26 in this school) and later 1 B26 went to the US air force museum, the second went to the french musée de l'air and we are still looking after the third, probably destroyed at the school.
