Last Friday, I had the pleasure of meeting again, with Tim O'Connor. After having dinner kindly prepared by his wife, we headed to the hangar at the Seymour, IN airport.

While there was a Shorts Sherpa dropping parachutists in practice for next day's airshow, I was able to see the progress that Tim has made in building his two P-26 replicas. Landing gear parts are finished, and waiting for assembly, the landing gear covers are being manufactured, and the rudders are almost ready for fabric work. Tim was working on building a very complicated (to me) fuel tank, and you can see it on IMG_5374.

One of the P-26s has already the instrument panel installed, one of them has a full tail wheel, while the other has the wheel missing. Lots of parts for the elevators, ailerons, firewall, etc. have been manufactured by Tim, maintaining the great quality of workmanship that I witnessed the first time I visited his shop, several years ago.

We talked about -what else? - airplanes, until almost midnight, and then I had to hit the road once again. One of these days, I hope to be there once again, and witness the first flight of one of the P-26s!!!

My thanks go to Tim and his wife, for their hospitality.

Saludos,

Tulio

Thank you very much for sharing your pictures Tulio. I've been wondering what happened to this project for awhile and hadn't been able to find any information. Looks like some high-quality production going on there. Thanks again for sharing.

You're right about the gas tank, I bet there's at least 100 parts to it.
