Sorry for the off topic but figured I'd give a word of appreciation for one wix'er that is having a hard go of it and struggling. There are only a few wix'ers and plane nuts that I keep in contact with on a regular basis that take their time to chat with me for a good period of time. Chris Shepperd is him aka Holedigger and he has always taken the time to chat with me about my daily struggles and life. Sometimes we shake our heads and other time we just have to laugh. He is dealing with some hard times with finding work with his amazing talent. :( It may threaten his living. :( l thought as a friend it was my job to make a note about it and hope him the very best. Chris is just a loving friendly person and has done a lot for the warbird community. 8) Large or small Chris has been there to help out. 8)

Thanks Chris! My very best blessings to you. Keep one day at a time my friend.

Regards,
Nathan

I hope Chris is a good guy! I hope to see him on my next trip to FL hopefully this summer.
I know the cost of living in FL particularly the Tampa area just plain sucks! I have friends
scattered about and they're all just making it even with a full time gig :?

I think a LOT of folks are having tougher times... in relative terms. Most of our countrymen, and our leaders, have lived outside of our means so long, that now, when tougher times hit, it is pretty hard.

I am sorry to hear about all of your difficulties, guys. I can certainly count myself lucky living in Canada where things got hard, but nowhere near to the extend it did in the US.

This is definitely a defining moment in the lives of millions of Americans. It's sink or swim. The big positive that I see coming out of all this is that it will cause everyone effected by it to become stronger, more resourceful, and more capable of facing challenges head on. Once things start getting back to normal I think the US people will be better because of it.

So, I just want to say "Keep your stick on the ice" or in other words, "keep your chins up guys."

Peace,

David

Mr. Holedigger is a very good guy and very talented. He did some nice work for me once. In my neck of the woods 1 in every 10 homes is under some kind of financial trouble. Foreclosers and bankruptcies are the norm these days. You can thank greed and apathy for much of the world's financial mess. And NO greed is not good.

I don't think its wrong or off topic to offer support to members of our warbird community. Sometimes a kind word or show of support can ward off problems becoming over-whelming. Wasn't that long ago we lost a great forum member named RetroAviation...and I for one don't want to see a repeat of that!

Whatever the issue Holedigger...chin up! It will always get better!

The reason people have a hard time is that we all believe it when the news tells us our problems are due to greed and banks. The problem is singular and it is simple. When you collect 15% of GDP in taxes and you spend 25%, that 10% gap comes from somewhere. It comes from your pocket in the form of inflation. I just visited Argentina, a once proud country that preceeded the US by about 30 years in this fiscal folly. We are getting what we deserve because we choose it, collectively if not individually.

Totally non-partisan and non-political.

Right on. Live within your means - personally, and as a country.
