After a windy week in North Texas the winds let up for our little airport to come alive with antique, classic and contemporary classic airplanes! Northwest Regional Airport in Roanoke, Texas shows its variety when the weather makes it perfect for flying.

Great photos and planes!

I especially like the Apache...you've gotto love the period curtains...seesm like a lot of Apaches and Aztecs had them in the day.

And the Wing is a rare beast, I've never seen one in the flesh.

That 235 APACHE is just wonderfully kept! Ernie Gann used to own and fly the heck out of a Wing Derringer up until his death back in the late 80's.

This is what happens on most nice weekends at Aero Valley/Northwest Regional!

Jim... I decided to feature the OTHER nice airplanes at our airport in this selection! (Will post more of the 170 later...)

Cool to see an airline executive flying a classic Apache. Hats off to him for keeping the Apache 235 up so well and flying a unique Contemporary Classic.

Different Champ, but very close in paint scheme and colors!

Thats a 120 (no flaps) but with a rear window added.

I know... that Grumman has sat for awhile. It was rumored sold once and awaiting new engines. It still sits thou. The hangar next to it has a Grumman Goose in it that is just sitting... and also a VERY rare biplane. The Parks from the Bach book "BIPLANE"!!!
