A lousy Monday morning turned into the best Monday ever for me today. As I walked off the future Gerald Ford, I heard a sound that totally surprised me for a Monday morning. Deep and heavy but off in the distance, I looked up to see a B-17 at pattern altitude for going in Langley AFB. It was about 9 so the sun was in the wrong position for me to see the paint job, but I know that big ass tail when I see it. So who us up over Hampton, VA this morning. I doubt it was 'Chuckie' as I believe she is still down in FL. I doubt 'Liberty Belle' as I have not heard that she was in the area. 'Memphis Belle-The Movie' is my best guess as I think I read where she was out to Wilmington, NC this past weekend and Langley's show is in a few weeks, so it makes sense to me for her to rest at LFI for a couple weeks instead of going all the way home and then coming back down.
Anyone have the real story?
Bob

Aw MAN!!! I sure hope it gets up in the air again between now and then... I *KNEW* I went in too early today! :)

Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye out from Newport News...

Lynn

EDIT: Just realized you said you were walking off of CVN-78- that's 6 blocks from my house. :D

I don't know who it was, but I do know that it was not Liberty Belle--she is in Portland, Oregon today!

'Memphis Belle-The Movie' flew from SJAFB to Langley this morning according to FlightAware.
