O joy...a critic.

Might as well critique this while you're at it.

Turn the volume down, watch the B-25s and realize how many of them that silly movie saved

Thought there are some really great films being listed, a war film has to do with war. Some don't really qualify, such as three of my favorites, "Dive Bomber", "Test Pilot" and "Keep 'em Flying". they would simple be films with a military or aviation theme.

I agree that these are not really war films, per say. But the home front and training were a larger part of the war years. Maybe it should be called COMBAT films instead?

Looks like a good list so far. As long as Captains of the Clouds is included I'm happy.
I don't see
The Cruel Sea on the list though. One of my favourites, but I'm partial to Corvettes since my great-uncle was lost when HMCS Shawinigan was torpedoed in 1944.
The novel by Nicholas Monsarrat is a good read too BTW.

The Hornblower Series (Ion Gruffeld)
The Man Who Never Was

Scott,
May nominations for the 100 worst war movies ever made also be made at this time?

Corvette K225 has to be on the list then hard to get but still around. Actual wartime convoy scenes including catapult launch of a Hurricane.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned BAT-21. That's one of my all-time favorites.

Hadn't thought of that. Guess I was too busy hating the story and the acting. Or lack thereof.
