Hmm these look familiar.
..These aircraft were 54 Squadron and remained RAF even though they served here in Australia.Photo was taked at 1AD at Laverton in 1942.Among the aircraft was Br 484 which was to become A58-27 which was the first aircraft to be repaired at 6AD Oakey where in 3 years time it would return to Oakey for storage along with nearly 200 others for scrapping.By the time it came to Oakey for repairs it had already over 300 hours up.A testiment to the amount of flying these early MkV,s did up over the top end.
Among the pilots was Flight Sargeant Charles James Wellsman who was killed in action on the 30th of june 1944 in A58-36 who flew -27 on many occasions.He was 22 years of age.
