This morning (4/13) I saw a faded, olive drab aircraft on a semi going east on I-74 in central Illinois. It believe there was just 1 engine (radial) on the trailer and the prop was attached. I would guess it to be an Avenger or a Wildcat or something of that vintage. Just got a quick glimpse as I met the truck on the interstate so not much more detail.
Anyone know of any warbirds of that description moving through Illinois dissassembled and in shipping gigs?

I think there was a PV-1 Ventura moving around in that area at some point recently.

Supposedly there are several P-47B/C's under restoration somewhere in Illinois or Wisconsin. Can't remember the guy's name. Perhaps it was one of those airframes?
