Building up set of cowl flaps.

Painted top turret frame.

"BEFORE" image of engine nacelle parts.

Astrodome fairing.

Riveting skin underneath radio room.

Rear fuselage looking forward to radio room.

Latest update:

Installation of viewfinder and camera doors in the radio room camera bay.

Gene getting in some "think" time before making the radio room flooring.

100% new radio operator chair and mount.

Great update. I was just up there the other weekend. A couple questions: When is the team leaving for Alaska and will there be any way to follow their progress?

They are leaving in another week or so. No plans that I know of for on-the-spot updates. We are planning on having a presentation about their trip during MERFI (Mid-Eastern Regional Fly-In) in Urbana Sept 10-11.

So good things can still be saved from the Alaska wilderness! To many times I've heard that it could not be done, lets hope the right folks can get some motivation from this and save more aircraft.

I so wish I could be involved in such a recovery.
