Meyers 200A

Am in the process of ferrying a Meyers 200A 800 nm. back to this area and wanted to know anyone's thoughts , flying techniques and observations on this 260 hp. bird. It has the IO-470D. I had a good checkout from the seller and feel comfortable with the aircraft. So far on the legs of the trip, the fuel burn has been about 16.6 gph and as high as 18 gph. Also, what to look for on annuals?

I believe you can add just about every model of Waco to that list as well.

Yeah, it's a "thick airplane" a term I made up to describe aircraft that are really strong/heavy because of their "innards" are made up of an endskeleton of steel tubing. Airplanes in this category include the T-6, Bt-13, Bellanca Super Viking, JU-87 Stuka, and a bunch more.
The Meyers, like the T-6 and Bellanca I've flown have a "thick" solid feel to them. not as much pitch and roll in turbulence as say a Bonanza or Cessna product. More weight distributed farther out from the C.G. maybe.
It's fun, like your grandad's 61 Corvette, not as easy to fly as a Bonanza. Oh, and it has the most comfortable seats I have ever flown in.

I'll try to get some pics for you. She's at her new home here at (M54). She 's receiving lots of maintenance and TLC. She was a very "bad girl" on the 770 nm. ferry flights home!

Didn't they make a Meyers 400 with an IO720 in it?

Even better! The 400 'Interceptor' came with a GARRETT TPE 331-6 flat rated @ 400 SHP
And that red and vermilion 200 is a purty aerryplain
