MiG-29 confusion

Wed Mar 09, 2011 2:51 pm

So now I'm completely confused. Is the recently-flown MiG-29UB in Seattle a Historic Flight Foundation (John Sessions) or Flying Heritage Collection (Paul Allen) project? And what is its ultimate destination?

The FHC facebook page mentions that they have just taken delivery of it, but it will only be there for a short while before moving on.

I just noticed that too. Based on the limited info provided it sounds like the FHC/Paul Allen purchased it from Mr. Sessions.

The best i've been able to piece together from what i've heard is HFF is responsible for the restorations. This one was sold to FHC and it looks like it's officially theirs now. I heard it would be based at one of Mr Allen's hangars at Boeing Field in Seattle and until it can be flown down here it will probably remain on display in Everett. As for what will happen once it gets to Boeing Field your guess is as good as mine.

Al's got it right based on an E mail sent by HFF. It looks like P.A. may have to buy and tear down an old hanger (Hgr 205) next to his (Hgr. 207 @ KPAE) which is bulging with the original FHC collection, build a new hanger, or purchase one of ATS' adjoining hangers, or park the Mig and the B-25 outside.
