Two more sorties on the Cargo Heritage today, they're up now, second sortie will be out of Ellington.

Was sailing on Lake Windward about 30 miles n of Atlanta and saw a very distinct shape! Almost did a Forrest Gump off the side.
Haven't seen a Fortress in the wild in ten years! What B-17 was flying in that neighborhood today? She did two passes east of Windward (Alpharetta) heading south east...was somebody doing rides out of the north-Atlanta area today? Might have been a yellow or green tail on BMF.

Looks like it was Liberty Belle.

Thanks 330--but I think it was Liberty Belle...updated tour schedule--they were showing in Atlanta last weekend--and this weekend too! Yellow tail---well I was half right.

I live under the flight path of Orange county(John Wayne) airport and constantly hear and see Mr.Lyons B-17 -Fuddy Duddy fly over head. He also has a B-25 that flys regularly too..I posted some pics maybe 5 yrs or so ago.Whenever I hear big bore piston engines I run outside and have a looksie

I saw one of the Marine Corps Sikorsky VH-3D Sea Kings fly over the Gainesville/Bristow area of Northern Virginia today (from the Presidential Helicopter Flight based at Quantico, VA -about 25 miles away). Since the Navy retired the last of their Sea Kings this past year, these VH-3D's are the last of this rare breed in service.

I read recently that the new DOD proposed budget includes funding to restart the search for a primary Presidential helicopter replacement for the elderly Sea King (after the planned VH-71 was canceled a couple of years back).

speaking of Sea kings,i used to work in a Volvo wrecking yard that was next to the Marine corps base in tustin,ca. they flew right over head and you couldnt hear yourself think.it was kinda cool watching the crew members hang out the doors and wave to you.just very noisy.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the Bearcat. That one used to be a regular at airshows around here about ten years ago. Nice to see it getting run-up. Has it flown recently?

Spent some time out near Falcon Field (Mesa, Az) this morning and there was lots of flying going on. In the short span between about 10am and 1pm I saw a dozen Nanchangs, three or four Mentors, two Texans, a Trojan, and (best of all) the Bearcat. That's what happens on a sunny 75 degree March day in good old Az!

You need to make a seperate post with your photos.other wise,they'll get lost in this thread.they are great photos and should be seen by all here.oh and the prop blades are not bent forwards nor backwards. And I see the fire extinguisher in the pics,smart guys
