This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The warbird eye candy is great, A86...but you've only shared with us a small portion of the true charm that is Chino.
Cute little rascals, aren't they? And Chino's legendary amber skies can only be truly appreciated in person!

And while it is true that the noble citizens of Chino don't have large piles of snow to shovel...

...you forgot to mention that the mild winter temps are generated primarily by handy manure fires.

Yes, Chino is a magical place. And even if POF would ever move, I believe the magic would certainly linger. Don't you?

Agent86 please keep the pictures coming!
I visited Chino about a year ago for just a few hours... I ran through PoF and then I had to go, so I am thrilled to see all the cool things I missed.
However I did manage to see some of the cows and catch that distinctive stink.

DanK,
Don't ya just hate meeting your wifes sisters?

Reminds me of what a friend who lives in cow country says 'smells like money to me'

It's still so weird to go to the Airshow each year and instead of seeing fields in the distance past the far side of the runway....seeing condos. Makes me wish I had taken a lot more photos of take-off/ landings in past years.

There was a great sign in front of a dairy I traveled by each day on the way to Chino Airport that read
"Our Cows Are Outstanding In their Fields"
Last time I was there the dairy was empty and deserted.
Probably a housing development now.
In that great haze around there, the smell was an indication you were getting close while flying. So it was used as a navigation method but wasn't FAA approved in near IFR or actual IFR conditions.

FYI - There were several people involved in the restoration of the FB-5. The person most involved in the recent work completed was Cory.
