VWC still has the Harry Whearatt Hurricane which is under restoration
As well as their flying Hurricane , they have 1 flying Spit and 2 more Spits under restoration .
The Y 2K Spitfire at Comox and another Spit which I have heard is currently being restored in England

Thanks for the info on the Finches, fleet16b. I knew they were rare, but I never realized just how rare they are. Neat looking aircraft.

Looks like there will be plenty of trainer yellow at CWH in addition to all the heavies. :D

Sounds like a great event! And its good to hear that VWoC still has the second Hurricane. It will be quite a collection once the 2 Spits and the Hurricane are out of restoration and join the rest of the fleet!

The one being restored in England is a Mk. XIV. I look forward to seeing and hearing a Griffon powered Spitfire... hopefully at some future Hamilton Airshow.

Thanks for your comments. We have just updated the Aircraft Performer listing. Added two Cornells (initially missed them), two Finches and the Vintage Wings Lysander. You don't get a chance to see two Lysanders in formation too often!

Any thought of contacting Jim Beasley and having him bring the Spit MKXVIII?

Good work and congrats guys....

Great to see the work the CWH is doing!!

Now if you'll just open up a Western Wing we can get serious (lol)

(I thought about flying the Bi Plane out but that would be a career move not a journey)

Here are the latest updates for the Hamilton Airshow 2011:

The Vintage Wings Corsair has now been added as a Performer. Unfortunately, their Mustang is no longer able to participate. The Canadian Warplane Heritage's PBY is now scheduled to fly in the show. It was originally scheduled not the fly this season due to turret installation, etc. but since that work is running behind schedule, it is able to participate. The rare Fleet Fort originally scheduled to fly, will now be on static. Two Nanchungs have been added to the Performers list. Stay tuned for possible additions.

We have just confirmed the Focke Wulf Fw190 A8/N (replica) from The Fighter Factory as a performer for the 2011 Hamilton Airshow! We are now at 40+ vintage aircraft flying in the show that we are considering a "dry run" for our big show in 2012 to celebrate the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's 40th.

The Military Aviation Museum announced today that the Lancaster will appear at our airshow "Warbirds Over the Beach" in May. I had heard that this was the trade worked out for having Chuckie at the Hamilton Airshow.

Actually the MkXIV is on its way to Canada for restoration here. The Mk XII Hurricane is now back on its wheels with the new spar installed. Mustang is off to Western Canada this summer instead of the Corsair. VWoC focus is on the Yellow Wings program. But sure is nice to see Hamilton back on the circuit.
