Chino Air Show in May... Any news?

Fri Jan 28, 2011 1:58 pm

So it is mid winter here in Canuckville... and my mind is drifting to thoughts of summer (that should read as "airshows" not summer). So is there any news, plans or rumors for the upcoming show in Chino? It might be a bit of a stretch on the budget to get there, but it doesn't hurt to dream. So... What will be there? How is that P-59 coming along?

Mike

100th anniversary of Naval Aviation. Probably too early to tell for anything else at this point.

I've given up on P-59 predictions. If it was a priority I'm sure it could be flying in a couple of months.

I remember last year that POF put up the first detailed show information on their website about the 1st of February, so hopefully we will get some updates soon.

The "Ace Maker T-33" team is scheduled to be there (hopefully with the "Blue Angels T-33" and/or the "T-1A/T2V-1 Seastar").

I am looking forward to coming out to Southern California again this May for my second Chino show.

Planes of Fame has posted the SCHEDULE for the May 14-15 show at Chino:

Wow, what a schedule! The highlight for me will probably be the Grumman portion of the Navy flybys (F3F, FM-2(F4F), F6F, F7F and F8F).

There will be lot of great warbirds flying that weekend, Navy, Marine, Army, Air Force and others. And it looks likes like a finale near the end of the show will put ALL the warbirds up in the air again.

Two months until my trip to Southern California.
