Great pics in your album. I like the Nose shot of N59NA.......AKA "Bones". If anyone wants to know, "Bones" was the nickname of a mechanic who worked on the DC-3's here in VT back in the 80's. He got his type rating in them and went to fly for 4 Star flying DC-3's and was killed in a crash. The airplane was bought by Business Air here in VT but was never put into service. Many years later, we went thought the airplane and painted it like the ones that flew in the 80's around newengland flying freight. Thought N59NA is in Normandy Markings for the USAAF, she is all DAKOTA!!!! Her history is written "or at one time WAS" on the left wing. She is all RAF..........I know as I still have the 1940 Shilling that I found in the tail while running the rudder trim tab cables

Who are the current US operators of DC-3s? I know there is Four Star Air Cargo out of Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, but any others? Might be a cool job after instructing.

I saw "Bones" at the airport in Cheraw, SC in April of 2009, and the history was still painted on the left wing root at that time.
