Flying or static?

Mudge,

Will will be flying the MiG-17 in the show this year (the MiG-21 will be on static display only).

Well, that doesn't seem very fair. Can't you get a few more Zeros to even it up a bit?

Hey...that just might work. I'm sure a lot of the media folks wouldn't know the difference.

I placed my order and the parking passes were available again.
I guess this means I have plan our trip out there now.
It is tempting to go around the corner to OSH after. :D

I'm confirmed to be there again this year (photo tour and pit both days). I guess it is also time to start thinking of a place to rest my head for those couple hours between some beer and getting out to the flight line at dark-thirty.

I'd love to continue to OSH this year. but I'm not sure if that is possible.

Thunder Over Michigan 2011's website updated their aircraft list on January 7 and it is looking good. It does appear that Will Ward's MiG-17 (planned flyer) and his MiG-21 (planned static) are omitted from the list.

Looking forward to more great vintage Navy/Marine/Coast Guard warbirds being added to the list in future months. Also hopefully we can get a clearer idea when the show is closer and more aircraft are added, as to which ones are definite planned flyers in the show and which ones may possibly be coming just as statics (hopefully not too large of a percentage of the total).

Via the shows FB page: From Naval Air Station Fallon, NV, VFC-13 has committed an F-5 Tiger II for static display.

60% of the Friday Taxiway Photography, and the Saturday & Sunday Photo Tour/Pit spaces are sold!

We e-mailed this information to everyone last week who were on our registered lists for 2009/10.

We are letting the rest of you know about the availability of these limited photographic opportunities.

As an aside, Photographers that are coming to T.O.M. this year are from Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, Germany, New Zealand and the United States.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.
