Re: I'm beginning to think I may have a problem..

I emailed the guy asking the make, he reploed saying "not sure as I'm not home, but for $50 it's yours, call me"
So I email back saying I was asking for someone else...
& almost immediately get a reply saying 'just sold it, sorry!"

LOL!!

It doesn't take but about an hour to have em looking like new if you have a blasting cabinet. I just take em apart, plastic blast em to remove the paint, then bead blast to get them really clean, paint, lube & reassemble, sorted :)
Also: I hit the sides of the jaw supports with a diegrinder & 3M scotchbrite pads, then screw the jaws back on.

Post some pics of it & I'll ask over at GJ to find out what it is. or you could register & start posting here:

Usually just Rustoleum :).. altho I've also used epoxy from sherwin williams which they can mix up to any color for $16/qt.. at least i think it was SW, I don't have the can here.

Yep Primed, scuffed, laid on a coat of Rustoleum Gloss Gray with the airbrush, I use that instead of a rattle can or brush. Over spray is no biggie, all machined surfaces are sprayed with a dry lube that wipes off when done. No I wont pinstripe it ;)

So I guess you aren't the only one with that problem?

I'm satisfied with one, but might pick up a second some day if convenient.

With all this knowledge about vises, does nayone have a good idea on a vise stand / mount that can be moved around the shop easily?
