It would be nice if Yankee's Privateer could be moved to out to the flightline...not sure if it is feasable...

...would also be nice if the Navy's specially anniversary painted aircraft could find their way to Michigan as well...

Here is a link to an EAA news item regarding the on-going repainting of several currently serving Navy and Marine aircraft for the Centennial of Naval Aviation. Many of these aircraft should make their way to EAA AirVenture the week of July 25-31 and with Thunder Over Michigan the weekend just prior to Oshkosh, hopefully we will see some of these there also.

The "Tier 1" Centennial of Naval Aviation air shows like Thunder Over Michigan, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, NAS Oceana, and many others will undoubtedly feature many of these special Centennial painted aircraft. Can't wait to see them!

:D

Baldeagle...do you know which cemetery in Hot Springs is the resting place of Lt Ingalls? I would like to go there and pay my respects.

Kevin - it sounds like a GREAT deal on buying tickets early. I am already signed up for the Photo Tour and Photo Pit, but for regular admission tickets to Thunder Over Michigan this is an unbeatable deal.

What a show it will be in 2011!

:)

The January 2011 issue of "Air Classics" magazine has a nice article ("Yellow Peril Meets the Texan") on an N3N-3 and a T-6 out in California.

The featured N3N is a beautiful airplane and there is a large photo of it in the magazine's center spread.

The vintage aircraft would fit in very nicely with the lineup at Thunder Over Michigan next July.

:)
