Courtesy shows tens of sales, including a P-47D:

I bet a few aircraft have sold without Courtesy's help too. ;-)

Well I know of at least 4 Mustangs that have sold along with the P-47 and a few other high ticket Warbirds.

But what we all want to know about is when are you going to post photo's and info on your F4F/FM-2, also when are you going to list the Corsairs that were pulled off of the Gold Coast that the engine mounts were used in airworthy Corsair.

Not all warbirds sold are done so through websites. Word of mouth is important in the warbird industry, and people with money are able to find what is available and what isn't. People with money are sometimes able to obtain items which weren't available until the owners are offered enough.

More of the same "warbirds aren't big ticket items, maybe I can devalue them so I can get one cheap" mantra, eh ellis_island_kid?

Cheers,
Matt

Though not over $1 million, haven't a couple of flying B-25s changed hands as well? 500k+ isn't something to sneeze at, in this humble Okie's opinion...

Of those plane on the sales list, there are only a couple of warbirds that would normally trade for over a million, even in a good market. There are a number of common jets on the market now that aren't going to fetch rare prices, and there are also others like T-6s and T-28s.

I do think the market is down, it could hardly be otherwise in this economy. N Warbird purchases are really, really a discretionary item, and can easily stopped when the economy is bad. New plane purchases are off also. Hawker Beech is not able to unload as multimillion dollar jets and has just laid off workers. As for P-51s specifically, they had a price growth before the recession, maybe got to an unrealistic level. Now they may have come down to more normal. I still see one in Trade A Plane asking over $2 million. It looks and sounds like a nice one, don't really know the plane or what it will fianlly go for if it does sell.

Thanks for all the information. I like to keep track of the market. It has been a really good year for T-6 and T-28 sales. Many of the those are changing hands this year. Probably at least 15 T-6s that I know of, and similar number of T-28 have sold this year.

Well it's nice that you have a hobby of tracking what has been being sold this year, but most of us are still waiting to see the Information on your "FM-2/F4F" all we ask is that you give us the Bu number that shouldn't be to hard for you to do maybe a photo of "your" Wildcat also.

Also I believe JDK is still waiting for you to listed the Corsairs that you claim to have Engine Mounts that were recovered from the stuff off of The Gold Coast and are now in Airworthy aircraft surely you can list the Bu numbers of these or at least who owns them.

There's a Bear (Tupolev version) on eBay if you have $10m lying around.
