I saw something very sad in the paper today, war related, but not aviation.
A young man only 29 years old was just killed in Afghanistan. We have lost so many in these two wars which just seem to go on and on and are near the start of the 2nd decade.
What really shocked me was that this young man had done 12 combat tours, before he was killed. That is not a misprint, it was Twelve, 4 in Iraq and 8 in Afghan, I don't know how or why this happened, but it does not seem fair, or even close to it. At 29 that means more than half his adult life was spent in war. That seems to me not what people were put here for. He leaves 2 children and his wife expecting a third.
Rest in peace, you sure deserve it, LANCE VOGELER.
Please go on google and look up this young man, there's more than I can convey. He had a nice smile.
